THE CAMPAIGN

The Library Foundation has begun BEYOND BOOKS AND BRICKS, a capital campaign to fund new information technology, beautiful public art, gardens, flexible public meeting spaces, and interactive learning programs and exhibits at the fifteen branches of Jackson County's Library System.

This campaign will ensure a library system that is viable, strong, and serving our communities' needs through the next 25 years and beyond. There are several components:

The May 2000 bond measure did not provide support for any increase in technology, including badly needed computers, high-speed Internet access, and automated check-out systems. It also did not provide for public art which creates and enriches a welcoming library environment.

As the fundraising organization of Jackson County Library Services, JCLF seeks private support for selected capital improvements, enhancements, services, and programs that is not provided by Jackson County funding or the 2000 bond. JCLF is committed to building a vibrant library system that is recognized for the excellence of its services, facilities, and staff.

Public art improves the visual environment for all residents, while strengthening civic identity and boosting community pride. Residents, newcomers, visitors and tourists alike appreciate the livability and beauty that public art adds to shared spaces where they work, visit, commute and recreate.

By making a donation, you ensure this special vision becomes a reality. Click here to download a form to donate to the Art & Enhancements Campaign.

The JCLF Capital Campaign incorporates the following components:

CENTRAL LIBRARY ART & ENHANCEMENTS
Located in Medford, the Central Library is the hub and headquarters of Jackson County Library Services. It is the largest branch and provides services to each of the other branches.

TECHNOLOGY
Jackson County Library Services plays an important role in ensuring that all people have access to information by providing free opportunities for computer access and on-line information. Computer hardware and software, communications technology, and electronic equipment are not funded by the 2000 bond measure. Your donation will help link our communities to the latest information technologies.

BRANCH ENHANCEMENTS
Our branch libraries provide important places for neighbors to gather, youth to study and enjoy special programs, and community groups to hold meetings and events. Many of these are supported by private contributions. Each community is developing its own priorities in seeking enhancements for its branch of the Jackson County Library and being supported by JCLF.

JCLF is raising $2 million to place in an Endowment Fund. Click here to learn more about donating to the JCLF Endowment Fund.
