Southern Oregon Arts and Lectures (SOAL) is a public service literary arts program of the Jackson County Library Foundation. Beginning in 2009, SOAL will launch a vibrant lecture series featuring distinguished novelists, scholars, scientists, filmmakers, historians, journalists, and cultural figures who talk about themselves, their work, and issues of contemporary culture. The Lecture Series connects readers and writers in a spirit of intellectual curiosity and engagement. In addition to lectures, the organization provides education and outreach services benefiting the Southern Oregon region through presentations and salons at the 15 branch libraries in the Jackson County Library system.
