       Jim Olney, the Foundation Executive Director, recently announced that he will be seeking election to public office in Jackson County in 2008.

    The Library Foundation takes no position on his decision to seek public office and has received a commitment from Jim that he will clearly state that all comments he makes as a political candidate are personal and not intended to represent the views of the Library Foundation.

    Jim has also agreed that he will not make any partisan comments in Library Foundation publications or at official functions of the Library Foundation.

    Jim is seeking public office as an individual, not as an employee of the Jackson County Library Foundation.
